Mel de Barroso honey

Mel de Barroso DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) honey is produced in the highest quota regions of Barroso in the Trás-os-Montes region.

There are many therapeutic actions of honey, due to its richness in antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins, minerals and amino acids, among others. Mel de Barroso DOP honey stands out due to the particular richness and variety of the pollen flora from heather in this balanced and sustainable ecosystem, classified as World Agricultural Heritage by FAO, which gives it, in addition to these medicinal actions, an intense colour, a delicate creaminess and texture and an elegant and refined taste.

Its quality has been recognized year after year for its numerous distinctions, medals and titles.
